About

Amanda Gillespie

Amanda Gillespie has always had a passion for helping others. She attended the University of Delaware as a psychology student, where she collaborated in research at the University's psychophysiology lab investigating the brains response to various stimuli. Amanda also played a significant role in the University's psychology club, Active Minds, which volunteered time at the state's psychiatric facility to socialize with patients of severe mental illness. Upon graduating in 2007, Amanda started her career working with people with developmental disabilities as she went to graduate school. In 2011 she graduated with her Master's degree in Counseling Psychology from Kean Univeristy in New Jersey with a concentration in School Counseling. She then began working in hospital settings at partial hospitalization programs for children and adolescents in low socioeconomic settings dealing with varying mental illness and substance abuse issues. After gaining more knowledge and experience in the hospital setting, Amanda went on to work as clinician and program coordinator for a therapeutic school based company.

Throughout the years, Amanda has successfully implemented various modalities and interventions to positively impact the lives of hundreds of patients/clients. Amanda has worked with clients of all ages, specializing in children, adolescents and young adults. Amanda specializes in treating Depression, Anxiety, Anger management and other Mood disorders and Personality disorders. For those who are looking to improve their overall mental and emotional well-being Amanda focuses on building self esteem, improving communication increasing personal internal awareness and teaches practices to maintain a healthy lifestyle.
